Singapore team wins 2 gold medals at Culinary World Cup

SINGAPORE : Singapore has won two gold medals at the Culinary World Cup.
The seven-member Singapore National Culinary Team bagged gold in the hot cooking and cold display categories.

This resulted in them emerging second runner-up in the prestigious Expogast 2006 Culinary World Cup held in Luxembourg earlier this week.

The team had spent many months planning, practising and perfecting the dishes showcased at the competition.

Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council will be present at Changi Airport on November 24 to welcome the Singapore National Culinary Team home. - CNA/ms
